Wands: the wand represents the element of air. The wand is used to cast the circle and direct energy during spells, incantations, and other magickal workings. The traditional material for wands is wood, but today you can find wands made of everything from gemstones to metals.
Cauldron:An iron pot used in rituals and for brewing potions. It is a primal Goddess image used like a chalice or cup. This was the common magickal instrument in the Celtic traditions because it was a practical object as well.
The athame represents the element fire (or air, in some traditions) and is often used to cast the circle. Athames are not used for cutting or other mundane tasks, though they can be used to cut the cake at a handfasting.
Chalice~the chalice represents the female. Chalices are used to drink wine, water, or whatever you choose during ritual. The Great Rite is performed when the athame is placed into the chalice representing balance. The style of the chalice is yours to choose.
